What Is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the treatment (or therapy) of psychological problems using a combination of Hypnosis with various therapy techniques.

How Does Hypnotherapy Work?
Our minds are comprised of two distinct areas most frequently referred to as the ‘conscious’ and ‘unconscious’ mind. The unconscious mind looks after all of the automatic processes and behaviours, for example breathing, so that we don’t have to expend large amounts of time controlling these aspects of our day-to-day living.
Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy allow the skilled practitioner to ‘negotiate’ directly with the unconscious part of the mind so that new and more ‘useful’ behaviours can be ‘programmed’ into the automatic part of the psyche, although this negotiation can often take a number of sessions to be fully ‘integrated’ into the persons ‘normal’ behaviour.

Contrary to what you see on TV and in the popular media, nobody can be ‘made’ to do anything that they are not fully willing to do in their ‘normal’ lives – all of the people who you see participating in stage hypnosis and such like, are 100% willing participants.
