Mental Health Counselling Wolverhampton
Here at Tranceform Psychology we offer our clients the most effective forms of mental health counselling with our own unique approach to overcoming personal difficulties.
Mental Health Counselling is the general term used to describe a range of therapies or techniques focused on improving the mental aspects of a person’s life with a primary focus on helping people to develop a set of skills and coping mechanisms or REAL practical use
We offer a wide range of ‘mainstream’ mental health counselling therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and general Counselling services, but we also offer more specialised approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Processing), BWRT (Brain Working Recursive Therapy – a more cognitive form of EMDR).
Psycho-Social Model of Mental Health Counselling
Our position is that we do not support the psychiatric-medical model of mental health problems that is so pervasive within our current society. Instead, we subscribe to the psychological model that focuses on the way a person thinks and what they believe as the fundamental foundations of mental health problems.
All of our mental health counselling services are designed to help to develop a deep level of personal understanding into how your thoughts, beliefs and core values ‘create’ unhelpful responses leading to anxiety, stress and depression related behaviours.
It is our view (and shared by the vast majority of professional psychologists) that a person must learn how to manage and cope with their mental health difficulties if they truly wish to overcome them.
Modelling mental health problems as ‘biological illnesses’ has the tendency to ‘dis-empower’ people from taking responsibility for their problems, instead focusing on medication based solutions which may provide temporary respte from problems, but in many cases leads to greater problems of dependency as well as unwanted side-effects.
Transform Your Thinking & Improve Your Mental Health
If you’re committed to overcoming your mental health problems then we highly recommend following either our Advanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy course with Paul, or the Changing Limiting Beliefs (CLB) Programme with Joan.
Both the CBT course and Changing Limiting Beliefs approach are highly successful & pragmatic psychological training programmes, run over 10 sessions, that will teach you everything you need to know to understand your problem, identify how unhelpful thinking and limiting beliefs might be reinforcing the issue, and then show you how to make any changes to your unhelpful thinking styles or maladaptive safety behaviours that you may have developed as part of your coping strategies.
Our CBT programme is an evidence-based, research supported approach used by mental health practitioners around the World.
FREE Initial Consultations
We offer all prospective clients a FREE initial assessment to chat about your mental health or counselling needs. During this 50 minute consultation we will discuss the various options that are available to you and make a considered recommendation based on your individual personal circumstances.
At Tranceform Psychology we recognise the importance of the therapy relationship as being key to making any personal change or improvement, so it’s very important to be able to meet PRIOR to agreeing any kind of help.
Our policy is to help people make a fully balanced & considered decision about undertaking work with us, including both the financial and personal implications, without pressure or coercion.
For most mental health issues we recommend following our 10 session Tranceformental CBT Programme (an advanced version of conventional Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to overcome a wide range of mental health and behavioural problems.
CBT is a proven form of therapy for developing a fundamental level of understanding into the dynamics of your problem, but also for learning new coping skills and strategies for sustainable change over your life.
Tranceformental CBT is available On-line as well as a one-to-one format in the clinic.
