CBT for Depression
10 Session Course of CBT for Depression in Wolverhampton
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) has been successfully used to help people deal with depression and depression-related problems for the last fifty years since it was developed by Aaron Beck in the 1960’s.
Today it is very popular and has accumulated a large body of supporting evidence that has demonstrated is efficacy.
CBT for depression involves exploring the ideas, thoughts and beliefs (cognitions) that have been found to provide a ‘foundation’ for the feelings associated with depression.
By understanding how these different types of thoughts and feelings are interrelated, CBT for depression sets out to develop more useful strategies and coping skills designed to help minimise both the occurence and intensity of associated symptoms.
Our 10 session course of CBT for depression is a highly structured programme that helps you to navigate a psycho-educational ‘pathway’ where you will develop a high degree of self-insight into how you thoughts, values and beliefs might be creating feelings of depression, as well as highlighting a range of tools and techniques that can be used to make changes to those patterns of thinking.
