Analytical Therapy for Understanding How Our Past Experiences Might Influence Today’s Behaviours
Analytical therapy is a form of mental health counselling that sets out to help a person ‘re-process’ past experiences that may be having a detrimental impact on day-to-day life.
Many of us may feel that some of the things that have happened to us in our past continue to have an impact upon our lives today.
Although the past cannot, of course, affect out life today (as the past no longer exists) the ‘way we think about the past’ in the present time CAN and DOES impact our daily experiences, but only because of the way we think about it now!
Analytical therapy is a gentle form of talking therapy that allows the therapist and client to explore those past events (sometimes that may only exist at a semi-conscious level) and to re-process them (re-consider them) in light of the new knowledge we have accumulated since then.
Because analytical therapy is not ‘searching’ or trying to specifically ‘uncover’ targeted experiences the process can often take a number of sessions before significant new ways of re-processing those experiences are brought or light. However, many people find analytical therapy one of the most effective things that they can do to permanently resolve past un-processed experiences.
How Many Session of Analytical Therapy Will I Need?
Everybody is different and goes through analytical therapy at their own pace. As a guide we suggest that 10 to 20 sessions is most likely to produce positive results for most types of problems, particularly those where the emotional ‘content’ is high.
Both Paul and Joan are fully trained in delivering analytical therapy. Paul was trained in analytical techniques in 1988 whilst Joan has undertaken more recent updated training in Conscious Analytical Therapy (CAT) with the Essex Institute.
How Much Does Analytical Therapy Cost?
One hourly sessions of analytical therapy cost £90. We also offer pre-purchased course of therapy at 10 sessions for £795.
Both of these options can be paid for on the fees page.
Initial Consultations for Analytical Therapy
We offer all prospective clients an initial consultation to discuss how analytical therapy might be the right choice for solving your problems prior to commencing any treatment plans.
The consultation is free and lasts around 50 minutes.
During this consultation we will discuss the various options that are available to you and make a considered recommendation based on your individual personal circumstances.
Initial consultations are also available as part of our online therapy service.
At TranceForm Psychology we recognise the importance of the therapeutic relationship in helping people to bring about effective change, so its important to be able to ‘meet’ to discuss our change programmes BEFORE proceeding.
Our policy is to help people make a fully balanced & considered decision about undertaking work with us, including both the financial and personal implications.
