Online Therapy and Counselling in Wolverhampton
Tranceform Psychology have been offering applied psychological counselling, therapy and coaching since 2009.
Our online therapy was originally launched in 2011 using Skype although it is only recently that the technology has developed sufficiently to allow meaningful engagement to take place.
Since the Coronavirus outbreak in March 2020 online therapy has become much more popular as it allows clients to consult from any location where they can access a smartphone, laptop or PC.
What Kind of Therapy is Available?
Although in principle any of the wide range of therapy modalities could work using the online therapy method, our own preference is for CBT (evidence-based) type interventions that involve a client carrying out additional ‘work’ and activities in the time in-between sessions – in our case working systematically through a workbook over the course of the therapy programme.
We recommend following our Tranceformental CBT online therapy programme which comprises 10 one hour sessions using Zoom and a recommended workbook.

How Much Does Online Therapy Cost?
Online therapy is exactly the same as face-to-face therapy with research suggesting that there is little difference between online therapy and therapy in a clinic, as long as an effective ‘therapy relationship‘ can be established – this is why we recommend the 10 session programme as this relationship is hard to build in just single short sessions.
The Tranceformental CBT online therapy programme costs £795 which we believe represents excellent value for money when comparing to the more recently launched ‘online therapy’ businesses which charge at least £99 for 50 minutes.
If you follow our online therapy version of the Tranceformental CBT programme you will need to purchase your own copy of the recommended workbook used for the course (see below).
How Do I Proceed?
Firstly, get in touch to arrange an initial consultation over Zoom (or in person at the clinic) which all clients have prior to deciding to undertake a course of therapy.
This initial consultation is FREE and lasts around 50 minutes
Opting for the Tranceformental CBT Programme
If, after your initial consultation, you wish to proceed with our 10 session advanced CBT programme, we’ll e-mail you instructions on how to pay for the course and how to obtain your own copy of the recommended workbook used to support you through the process.
Technical Requirements for Online Therapy Sessions
- We recommend using either a PC, Laptop or Tablet for your online therapy sessions.
- Smartphones can be used but are not the best devices due to the very small screensizes.
- We use a 27″ monitor and HD 1080p Camera.
- We also recommend using a headphone and microphone set-up although this is not essential.
- Zoom simply requires you to click our invitation that we send to you via e-mail. Once you click the link you will join the meeting room. You will receive a new invitation for each weekly session to maintain security.

Research clearly highlights the importance of the ‘therapeutic alliance’ in producing positive therapy outcomes. By using Zoom for online therapy sessions we are able to interact with clients in a meaningful way which positively supports this crucial factor.

We offer all prospective clients an initial consultation to discuss online therapy prior to commencing any treatment plans.
The consultation is free and lasts around 50 minutes.
During this consultation we will discuss the various options that are available to you and make a considered recommendation based on your individual personal circumstances.
