Sports Psychology
Sports Psychology and performance enhancement with applied psychology principles.
Regardless of what level you compete at, World Class, National Class, County Class or even at your local club or friends level, you CAN improve whatever you do by working on the psychological part of your game.
You probably believe that in order to beat the competition that you somehow need to have a greater set of physical skills, greater fitness, more determination, greater focus and so on.
All of the above are true, of course, but the single greatest improvement that you can make is to realise that your single most awkward opponent is YOURSELF.
Sure, you play against other players as well, but the person most likely to beat you is YOU.
If you can learn to be in total control of yourself, the way you think and approach the game, then you can undoubtedly make significant improvements in your game.
In fact, we can measure this “psychological potential” for success using a TEST that tells us about an important key feature of your mind-set called your “Locus of Control”.
This psychological “marker” can help us to identify how your “thinking” might be limiting your physical abilities.
Our Sports Psychology Improvement Programme can help you with:
- Psychological preparation
- Improved self-confidence
- Mental Resilience
- Motivation
- Limiting beliefs and values
- Goal-setting
- Visualisation
- Positive self-talk
- Correctly use relaxation
- Improved Concentration
- The ability to control emotions
- Elimination of stress and anxiety
What’s Involved in the Sports Psychology Programme?
Our programme takes place over 10 structured sessions based approximately on the Tranceformental CBT Programme, a training protocol based on scientific principles.
Over the course of these 10 sessions you will learn about how “what you think” directly impacts upon both how you “feel” and how you therefore “perform”.
Initial Consultations for Sports Psychology
We offer all prospective clients an initial consultation to discuss your sports psychology needs prior to commencing any programmes.
The consultation is free and lasts around 50 minutes.
During this consultation we will discuss the various options that are available to you and make a considered recommendation based on your individual personal circumstances.
Initial consultations are also available as part of our online therapy service.
At TranceForm Psychology we recognise the importance of the therapeutic relationship in helping people to bring about effective change, so its important to be able to ‘meet’ to discuss our change programmes BEFORE proceeding.
Our policy is to help people make a fully balanced & considered decision about undertaking work with us, including both the financial and personal implications.
