Stress Management Training
Stress Management Training – The Resilient Minds Programme
The Resilient Minds stress management programme is a specially adapted version of the Changing Limiting Beliefs protocol specifically designed for Executives, Managers and Supervisors within the workplace. It is a 100% evidence-based scientific training programme that is designed to help people cope more effectively with the levels of Stress that are the direct result of workplace demands.
Work Related Stress is fast becoming the most significant obstacle to maximum workforce utilisation and is set to grow to almost epidemic proportions during the next decade.
Furthermore, workplace stress that is not sufficiently well managed (by either the employers or the employees) is a KNOWN pre-cursor to the development of more significant mental health problems, including Anxiety Disorders and Depression both of which can result in significant lost-time at work.
The World Health Organisation state that:
As health is not merely the absence of disease or infirmity but a positive state of complete physical, mental and social well-being (WHO, 1986), a healthy working environment is one in which there is not only an absence of harmful conditions but an abundance of health-promoting ones.
What this means is that whilst businesses may (understandably) focus a lot of effort on introducing measures to mitigate the effects of harmful factors and practices in the work place, true health and well being is more accurately measured by the range of health-promoting functions and activities in ADDITION to minimising harm.
The Resilient Minds stress management programme deals with this dichotomy by not only focusing on increasing personal tolerance levels for stress, but by also providing a range of easy to use tools and techniques that are designed to positively improve a persons sense of self-efficacy as well!
Stress is Ubiquitous in Contemporary Workplaces
TranceForm Psychology (and our ‘mental health at work’ dedicated business Corporate Mentality) see little value in trying to steer CEO’s and business leaders down the road of ‘reducing demands’ in their business because it is almost certain that their customers and the market are only ever going to become MORE demanding.
We believe that a more useful and pragmatic approach is to help members of the workforce to develop self-empowering paradigms and mental resources in order to be able to cope more effectively with the level of business demands they experience.
This does not mean, of course, that a business should not pay any attention to the way it’s managers communicate and deploy those demands (we do not advocate allowing ‘bullying’ for example) but that by helping people to respond to stressful situations in a more resilient way that the level of demands within the business are likely to have less ‘damaging’ effects on those whose jobs involve fulfilling those roles.
For this reason we have developed the Resilient Minds stress management programme.
The stress management programme focuses on helping people to identify and understand their own specific limiting beliefs and perceptual models so that, given the appropriate tools and techniques for change, they can go on to tolerate more demanding environments without any psychological harm.
Everybody Responds to Stress According to Their Internal Models
Stress, in itself, is not actually harmful, indeed, it is a necessary requirement that drives action. The actual problem with Stress is that each and every one of us has our own internal ‘limit’ for stress tolerance beyond which we start to ‘come -undone’ and suffer the effects of ‘too much stress’.
By following the Resilient Minds stress management programme with TranceForm we can help individuals (and teams) to ‘re-engineer’ their stress limits allowing a greater level of ‘exposure’ prior to ‘breaking-point’. This is achieved by considering all of the implicit human factors that ‘determine’ each individuals coping level.
Most people will recognise that certain other members of staff seem to ‘thrive’ on levels of stress that seem intolerable to others. Clearly this cannot be anything to do with the levels of demand itself, and therefore by definition must be due to the way that those demands are processed and perceived by the person in question!

Steve has a degree in management as well as further education teaching certificate.
The Resilient Minds stress management programme has been reviewed and approved by our Director of clinical services Dr Justina Somal who holds a PhD in counselling psychology and is HCPC registered.
Resilient Minds Programme – Delivery Options
Our full, one-to-one, Changing Limiting Beliefs Programme is normally delivered to individuals who visit the clinic over 10 sessions lasting one hour. This is clearly impractical for implementation in the workplace, so as a result we have produced a more condensed version called the Resilient Minds stress management programme which comprises of fewer, but longer sessions.
Delivery at Your Facility
Due to the nature of psychological change within individuals, we recommend delivery of the Resilient Minds Programme to your target staff over 4 mornings or afternoons, once per week spaced one week apart – delivered over a month period. Where you have a sufficient number of staff to warrant delivery of both a morning and an afternoon session, we are able to accommodate this. We recommend a minimum number of 6 and a maximum number of 12 candidates at each separate session.
Morning or afternoon stand alone sessions (where we deliver for half a day) cost £500 and therefore £2,000 over the full 4 session delivery). If you have a sufficient number of candidates to require the full day of two separate sessions, the days cost is £850 and therefore £3,400 over the full 4 double session delivery. The cost is based on our time rather than the number who attend.
Half day sessions last for 4 hours (with a break for coffee), normally from 09:00 to 13:00 – afternoon sessions 13:00 to 17:00.
We have our own projection and screen facilities and will only require the delivery room.
Delivery at our Training Suite
Six times per year we deliver the stress management programme out of our training suite, based at the Dudley Archives and Local History Centre Castle Room for a minimum of 6 and up to 12 candidates (or other similar facility depending on availability).
The cost per candidate is £800 for which they will attend 4 X 4 hours training sessions.
